1. Cancun, Mexico:
Of course Cancun is at the top of our list! Cancun offers stunning beaches, and a variety of budget-friendly hotels and all inclusive resorts.
Best of all, December is off-peak season, making it an ideal time to visit. You can explore Mayan ruins, relax on pristine beaches, and enjoy delicious street food without breaking the bank!
Cancun has tons of kid-friendly resorts and spots as well, soo it’s fun (and worry-free) for the whole family!
2. Thailand:
Thailand is a treasure trove of affordable and warm destination spots. It’s hard to narrow it down to just one city, so we included the whole country!
Visit the jaw-dropping beaches of Krabi, explore the bustling streets of Bangkok, or trek through the lush jungles of Chiang Mai. Hotels, food, and transportation are easy on the wallet.
We visited Thailand a few years ago and we were completely blown away! The food was incredible, the fruit was SO fresh, everyone was unbelievably friendly and welcoming. Even the plane ride was a treat! Make sure you look out the window during your flight and you will be mesmerized by the panoramic, clear ocean views. Trust us, you’ll fall in love even before you land!
3. San Juan, Puerto Rico:
Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory, which means no passport is required for U.S. citizens. December is a perfect time to visit with pleasant weather and affordable prices. Explore the historic streets of Old San Juan, relax on the beaches, and try local cuisine at delicious and affordable eateries.
4. Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain:
Located off the northwest coast of Africa, Tenerife offers warm weather year-round. Winter is an excellent time to visit due to fewer crowds and lower prices. You can hike in the Teide National Park, relax on volcanic beaches, and savor Spanish cuisine at local restaurants.
5. Playa del Carmen, Mexico:
Another destination in Mexico. Just south of Cancun, Playa del Carmen has a more relaxed atmosphere and a range of affordable hotels and accommodations. Enjoy the stunning beaches, explore nearby cenotes (natural sinkholes), and take day trips to Cozumel or dazzling Tulum.
We could go on and on about how much we love Playa del Carmen, but you just have to experience it for yourself!
6. Siem Reap, Cambodia:
December is one of the best months to explore the ancient temples of Angkor Wat without sweltering heat. Cambodia offers affordable accommodations and delicious street food. Experience the rich culture, visit local markets, and take a boat ride on Tonle Sap Lake.
7. Bali, Indonesia:
Of course, our warm winter holiday wonderland list wouldn’t be completer with out Bali!
